Public Health Certificate

Public health instructorThe Public Health Certificate is an exciting way to build a foundation in public health, increase job opportunities and/or enhance a current degree program. This certificate program can be fully completed online in one year. It is specifically designed for the working professionals who want to increase their knowledge of public health, but are not able to attend a university campus.

The Public Health Certificate is program is ideal for:

  • Medical doctors, nurses, dietitians, nutritionists, other individuals that work in public health and would like to increase their knowledge and competences
  • Health professionals who wish to move into career positions in public health
  • Students pursuing an MPH degree that are interested in a solid first step

This non-degree program covers five core public health disciplines including:

  • Biostatistics
  • Epidemiology
  • Environmental Health Sciences
  • Health Services Administration
  • Social and Behavioral Sciences

A certificate is awarded to students who pass all five courses. The credits earned in the certificate program may be applied toward an MPH degree at the University of Texas School of Public Health.
