South Texas Environmental Education and Research

members of the steer programSTEER is a 4 week elective for the MD/MPH student interested in learning about the public health issues that affect a community. Medical students on the MD/MPH track will learn firsthand about local environmental health concerns such as air pollution, water pollution and sanitation issues during this elective. In addition, students can participate in environmental projects associated with the South Texas Diabetes and Obesity Project.
